Herndon, is located just 6 miles north of Highway 36 on Highway K-117 in Rawlins county Kansas.  It is located beside Beaver Creek. Throughout the downtown area, there are several historical  buildings which house the business district of Herndon.  A scenic, road follows Beaver Creek and the railroad toward Atwood, the county seat of Rawlins County.
